Some New Uses for Olive Oil

Olive oil is much more versatile than you thought. It has many more uses than just for cooking. It can be used as your little beauty secret to fixing things around the house.  The following are some uses for this culinary staple:

  • Moisturizer/shaving - besides being a great moisturizer, it can also give you that clean close shave.
  • Moisturize cuticles - get that straight from the manicurist look by dabbing a little of that oil onto your cuticles.
  •  Dust wooden furniture - apply a little to a wash cloth and wipe that dust away.
  • Use it on that stubborn zipper - apply a bit onto a Q-tip and dab onto the metal portion of the zipper and voila! Have a free moving zipper. Just be sure to avoid putting oil onto the fabric of your clothes.
  •  Shine stainless steel and brass - apply a small amount of oil onto a soft cloth and shine those stainless steel appliances.
  • Help Fluffy the cat get rid of those nasty fur balls -  Add 1 teaspoon to your cat’s food to help prevent hair balls.
  • Fix that squeaky door - lubricate the hinges of the doors with a bit of olive oil.
